I had many reservations about writing a blog. So I am compromising, this blog will have tidbits of training information, thought provoking information and just stories about life with dogs. It will just be a couple of paragraphs twice per month or so about living and training our canine companions. I welcome suggestions about topics you are interested in, feel free to email me at email@example.com. Here we go.
No One Size Fits All
Dealing with training issues with your dog it can be overwhelming. Believing that there is only one solution (training methodology) and that is the one and only way to make the problem go away. It is very difficult to see the flaws in that solution. In dog training there is no one size fits all, on the contrary there are various ways to achieve your goal.
When working with a dog trainer find out what options are available to you before buy into the first solution presented. Weigh your options. Dog’s temperament and lifestyle should be considered when developing solutions to a training problem and should be designed for them as an individual.
Be an advocate for your dog- if not you then who?
