I began working with animals in 1986, my first job was as kennel assistant in veterinary medicine. I eventually made my way to Veterinary Technician and worked in general practice for many years before turning to Emergency medicine. In 2000 I became a Certified Veterinary Massage and Rehabilitation Therapist and worked in a holistic practice where I did canine massage while still working in the ER. I found it easy to incorporate massage and physical therapy as part of nursing care to ER patients and continue to this day.   My training career started with my own dog Pauly (a Pitbull Terrier) at For Your K9 six years ago. We have trained and competed in several sports including Rally, Tricks and Barn Hunt. Pauly currently holds Champion titles in Tricks, Stunt Dog and Barn Hunt and in 2017 was one of six finalists in the very first Stunt Dog Nationals and made it to the top 50 at the Barn Hunt National. We have since added to our canine family, Howie (Jack Russel mix) who has already reached expert Trick Dog level and Novice Stunt Dog.   When Canine Fitness Coach training became available it seemed to be the perfect way to combine my two passions – training dogs and keeping them healthy. In November of 2019 I became a Canine Conditioning and Fitness Coach through the Do More With Your Dog program and trainer Kyra Sundance. I joined the For Your K9 instructor family this year and look forward to offering Fitness classes for all dogs- puppies to seniors.
