When you see a flyer, newsletter or Facebook post at For Your K9, chances are Melissa designed it! After a few years helping out behind the front desk, she now works as our Marketing Coordinator. Melissa’s zoo includes: two human teenagers, Leeloo the Standard Poodle, Joe the French Bulldog, tabby cats Zelda and Coraline, a small flock of backyard chickens and a couple of honey bee hives.
As lifelong animal lovers, Melissa and her family have worked in rescue administration and fostered hundreds of puppies and dogs for area organizations. While she hibernates during Chicago winters, when the weather is right Melissa can be found begging Leeloo to get out of the pond at the forest preserve off-leash area, digging in the dirt of her gardens and helping out at the Fischer Farm apiary. Other hobbies include herding ducklings out of busy roads at her peril and trying to collect all of the empty water glasses her kids leave around the house each night.
