Behavior Specialty Training

Understanding your dog is the first step to changing behavior.

At For Your K9, we believe that behavior challenges are best addressed by looking at the whole dog—their mind, body, and emotional well-being. Physical discomfort, fear, overarousal, and lack of clarity can all contribute to the behaviors we see. Our goal is to help you understand what’s really going on so you can build a stronger, more compassionate relationship with your dog.

Our behavior programs focus on:

  • Creating emotional safety and structure

  • Teaching practical skills that support real-life change

  • Helping you interpret and respond to your dog’s behavior with confidence

We offer a variety of behavior services, including private consults, workshops, and group classes. Whether you’re dealing with reactivity, fear-based behaviors, or just feeling stuck, we’re here to support you with science-based, relationship-driven training.

Some of our most popular behavior classes include:

  • Reactive Dog – Build skills and confidence around dog-directed reactivity

  • Scared to Prepared – Designed for dogs who are fearful, unsure, or overwhelmed by people. This class helps dogs build trust and resilience through carefully structured exercises and supportive handling.

  • Awfully Adolescents – Behavior support for dogs 6–18 months going through the “teen phase”

  • It’s So Exciting (Drop-In) – Support for over arousal and impulse control
