AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
Welcome to the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Program! 🐾 Started in 1989, this program aims to reward our furry friends who exhibit good manners at home and in the community. It’s a two-part program that emphasizes responsible pet ownership and teaches basic good manners to our beloved dogs. 🏅
Once dogs pass the 10-step CGC test, they can receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. Many dog owners choose Canine Good Citizen training as the first step in their dog’s training journey. It lays a solid foundation for other fun AKC activities like obedience, agility, tracking, and performance events. 🐶💨
