Amanda Ketchum
Dogs have surrounded Amanda Ketchum for as long as she can remember. Growing up, her family home was filled with many dogs including a German Shorthaired Pointer (Tiffany) and a Cocker Spaniel (Angel). Some of her fondest childhood memories were adventures in the field with Tiffany, watching her as she expertly flushed out pheasants during crisp fall days. Later, Amanda found joy in teaching playful tricks to Angel. In 2022, she found Barn Hunt with her pittie mix, River, and a passion for dog sports was ignited. Soon, Harper, Amanda’s American Pitbull Terrier, was enrolled and excelling in Nose Work and FastCAT.
Amanda uses a training approach rooted in positive reinforcement to build strong bonds between pets and the people who love them. She believes understanding and appreciating a dog’s instincts is key to a harmonious relationship. When she’s not passionately involved in dog training or competing, Amanda enjoys cross-country road trips, hiking scenic trails, and camping under the stars with her beloved pups. Exploring the great outdoors with her canine companions brings Amanda immense joy, and she’s always eager to share tips on making these adventures memorable for you and your dogs. Waggin tails and happy trails!
