Rally/Competition Obedience

Rally

Rally, also known as Rally Obedience, is a fun and engaging dog sport that combines obedience training with a series of challenging courses. In Rally, handlers guide their dogs through a course made up of various stations, each with a sign instructing the team to perform a specific task. These tasks can include commands like sit, stay, and heel, along with more advanced maneuvers such as turns, changes in pace, and positioning exercises. Unlike traditional obedience, Rally encourages communication between handler and dog, allowing for a more relaxed and interactive approach. The goal is to complete the course with precision, while demonstrating a strong bond and teamwork between handler and dog. Rally is suitable for dogs of all breeds and skill levels, making it a great way to strengthen obedience skills while having fun together!

Competition Obedience

Competition Obedience is a structured and precise dog sport where handlers and their dogs showcase their skills in performing a variety of obedience exercises with accuracy and finesse. In this sport, dogs are asked to complete tasks such as heeling off-leash, retrieving objects, jumping over hurdles, performing sit and down stays, and responding to commands at a distance. Each exercise is judged on how closely the dog follows the handler’s cues, the dog’s focus and enthusiasm, and the overall teamwork displayed between dog and handler. Competition Obedience emphasizes discipline and the highest level of training, and it can take time to develop the precision required to succeed. It’s a rewarding sport for teams that enjoy fine-tuning their obedience skills and demonstrating the close bond and trust between handler and dog. Suitable for various breeds and training levels, Competition Obedience challenges both handler and dog to work as a synchronized team.
