Gerry’s introduction to dog sports started with training in obedience and rally. With his GSD, Raina, they earned AKC titles in both. 

Through a fortunate opportunity, he and Raina began nose work training in 2018. Since then, they have continued their nose work journey competing in NACSW and AKC trials. 

Gerry and Raina took their first nose work class at For Your K9 in January 2021 and continue to take nose work classes. Wanting to introduce nose work to others, Gerry started as a nose work instructor under the mentorship of Nancy Reyes. in May 2022 teaching Beginning Nose Work. He enjoys introducing new handlers to nose work and seeing each team make progress. He also learns from each team as much as they do from him.

By far, nose work is the favorite dog sport for Gerry and Raina. If you don’t believe him, just ask Raina! She will give you four paws up!
